Chromologics is a Copenhagen-based biotech spin-out from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
Founded in 2017 by Gerit Tolborg and Anders Ødum, Chromologics is pioneering new ways of natural food color production.
Gerit and Anders met at DTU where they were both pursuing academic careers. After the exciting discovery of a novel group of fungal pigments during Gerit’s PhD, they both decided to explore that invention from a commercial angle and founded Chromologics.
After closing a €6M series seed-round of funding in April 2021, Chromologics rapidly expanded its team and R&D facilities.
Chromologics proprietary fermentation process allows it to become first movers in introducing lab-grown food colorants to the market.
